In terms of WIP posts, I will share different stages of the process to create one of my Signature line wall artworks.
Currently, I’m working on an image of my horse, an OTTB (off the track thoroughbred), Primo, JC name Primo Rivera. The base image was taken back when we were living in Colorado. He was probably around 8 at the time. Jim is making him put on his best expression.

The first task is to remove the background. Then I can begin with base painting – creating a brushstroke layer that will serve as a base layer for additional paint layers.

Finished base painted layer of the horse.

Current state: Here I’ve added the background which is comprised of multiple layers, textures, and painting techniques. I consider the piece around the 1/2 way mark at this point. I still have several iterations to go. Please follow the progress!
